The charging would be the same as your original charging method when you purchased the Wahl 9918 trimmer. Plug the unit in to charge until the status light is indicates fully charged. Then when the unit dies or becomes to slow to operate normally, put back on to the charger. Constantly charging or leaving on charger at all times is not recommended for any battery unless the unit has a built in smart charging systems the shuts off internally to prevent over charging. This is a basic guideline as we are not personally familiar with the Wahl 9918 trimmer.
