Does it work for the jbl charge 2 with the black cover?

No, a few weeks ago, the description said that it fit the JBL Charge 2+, but I see they fixed that. You should go ahead and open your speaker to verify how many wires it has. This one only has 3, mine had 5.

Yes, but there are two different plug connector types for the JBL Charge 2. This battery is the same spec as the original battery, but you may need to cut the plug from you original battery and solder it to this battery.
