The batteries should be the same brand if there are connected to the other set of batteries. If they have there own connection to the system then you can use a different brand. However, you should also never mix older batteries with new batteries because it will typically ruin your new batteries. Try to keep them in separated banks so that you do not damage the new batteries or reduce there life.
