The charger is always going to put out more voltage than the battery. If a new battery was installed and is not taking a charge, I would test the battery with a multimeter to see if it's actually putting our voltage and not shorted. If the battery is fine I would double-check your installation and make sure you have solid solder points. This battery is for your model
