Mixing batteries is never a good idea especially in the these two scenarios. Mixing capaccities can cause the newer batteries to be reduced to the capacity of the older batteries. Mixing new batteries with the older batteries will cause the new batteries to operate at the same level as the old batteries. In both situations you will be wasting money on batteries in the long run. Just replace all the batteries at once to get the most out of your batteries. The old batteries that are still good can be resold to a scrap dealer or on a local marketplace app.
